Get Your Flu Vaccines at Our Pharmacies

Getting the flu vaccination is a good idea. Whether you’re worried about catching the flu yourself, concerned about missing time at work, or simply want to protect vulnerable family members from getting ill, getting vaccinated against this year’s strain of seasonal flu can offer both protection and peace of mind. By getting the flu vaccine, you not only reduce your risk of illness but also help prevent the spread of the virus to others. It’s an easy and effective way to stay healthy during flu season.

You can now conveniently get your flu vaccine directly from our pharmacies, making it easier than ever to stay protected.

Who is eligible for the flu vaccine?

The NHS offers free flu vaccinations each year to individuals who are considered at higher risk of serious complications from the flu. The vaccine is crucial in reducing the spread of the flu virus and protecting vulnerable groups.

Below is a list of those who are eligible for a free NHS flu vaccine this flu season:

  • Adults aged 65 and over
  • Pregnant women
  • People with long-term health conditions, including chronic respiratory diseases (e.g., asthma, COPD), heart disease, kidney or liver disease, diabetes, neurological conditions (e.g., Parkinson’s, MS), or a weakened immune system (e.g., due to HIV, chemotherapy)
  • Healthcare and social care workers
  • Carers for elderly or disabled individuals

Some young people can also get the flu vaccine for free through the NHS as a nasal spray:

  • Children aged 2 or 3
  • Primary school children (Reception to Year 6)

If your child is aged between 6 months and 2 years and is in a high-risk group for flu, they’ll be offered a flu vaccine injection instead of the nasal spray.

If you do not qualify for a free NHS flu jab we can still provide you with a private flu vaccination.

Who shouldn’t have the flu jab?

Most people can have a flu vaccine. However, there are a couple of exceptions:

  • If you are currently unwell with a fever, you should delay getting the flu jab
  • If you have an egg allergy, speak to your GP or pharmacist before getting the jab
  • Children under 6 months old should not get the vaccine
  • If you have had an allergy to vaccination in the past, you should consult with your healthcare provider
